COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Being spiritually awake is nice, but what we do with our wakefulness is beautiful. As we consciously evolve, we have the awesome opportunity to give from a deeper place, in different and more meaningful ways.

As a consciously evolving spiritual community, NTCRS loves to extend a helping hand to people and to causes. Some of the activities we are involved with that allow us to give from our spiritual core are:

Adopt-a-Highway Clean-up	On a monthly basis, from May through October, we care for a four-mile stretch of one of Lake Tahoe’s most scenic highways, where it enters the North Shore at Kings Beach, CA. We take great pride in removing trash and restoring this stretch of land to its natural condition.
Bingo Night	On the 2nd Monday of every month we bring our joyful Spirit to the Truckee Senior Center where we host Bingo Night. We enjoy spending time with and learning from our wise elders.
Let’s Talk Turkey	For the last several years we have assisted Project MANA, our local food assistance organization, by providing Thanksgiving dinners to over 20 families in need. This is always a heart-warming experience and our participation grows every year.
Santa’s Elves	Each year at Christmastime we assist Tahoe Women’s Services by adopting several struggling families and filling their Christmas wish lists. Playing Santa has become a tradition that brings us so much joy and satisfaction that it’s hard to tell who is more served.
Coat Drive	Winter in Tahoe is cold, so annually we reach into the back corners of our closets for warm coats that we are ready to release, and we give them to others in the community that are cold and in need. In this way we wrap our arms around each other and lovingly offer comfort and support.
Special Events	Once a year we look for interesting ways to serve the larger community through guest speaking events that offer new insight into the common challenges of life. It is our intention to offer events featuring nationally known speakers, who model and teach elements of conscious living. Some of our prior speakers have been Deepak Chopra, Don Miguel Ruiz, Dan Millman, Dr. John Gray, Maria Nemeth and James Twyman.

These are just several of our community support projects, and we are always looking for new ways and forms to assist others in living a better life.
