Nov. 1st: Daylight Savings Ends - Change your clocks back on Saturday night to be on time on Sunday morning.
Nov 4th: Prayer Chest Prosperity Course - A 4-week Prosperity Course centered on The Prayer Chest by August Gold and Joel Fotinos. The "Three Secrets of Prayer" will be revealed. At a time when the world seems filled with fear over our current financial climate, this is a time to remember that we live in an abundant universe. Let us join together in knowing and demonstrating the Truth for one another and ourselves. The cost is $40.00. Classes are offered on Tues. 6-8PM & Wed. 10-12AM. Please sign up for one of these dates.
Nov/Dec: Bring your slightly used coats, hats, gloves and boots for school age children to our center. They will be given to Family Resources Centers in Kings Beach for distribution to local children. Donations will be accepted until Dec.7th. Also, Tahoe Women Services will recycle your old cell phones for emergency use only, and those will be collected here too. Please call Marty Mosher @ 581-1670 with and questions.
Nov.22rd: Thanksgiving Food Distribution - project MANA - You may provide a completed basket or make a cash donation to our shoppers by Nov 16th. Baskets must be delivered to CSL office on 11/22 btw. 8:30 & 10 AM. Please sign up for your basket. For more information contact please Nancy O'Neill (583-2245) or Mary Lahti (581-2709).
Nov. 23rd: Membership & Stewardship Sunday - this is a very special and moving service in which we witness the power of partnership. Those choosing to reaffirm their membership and financial support will have the opportunity to do so. A Thanksgiving Feast will follow for all.
MEMBERSHIP REAFFIRMATION
Once a year our members are invited to consider where they are on their spiritual journey and if the Center for Spiritual Living continues to be their spiritual home.
In The Path of Membership class, the meaning of membership is taught as a fourfold commitment.
The first level is personal. It is a commitment to living the Science of Mind philosophy. This means a member is willing to learn about and apply the principles in daily life.
The second is to truly join with the existing members and to lovingly welcome in our new members. It means a deepening in the level of participation with the spiritual community from that of observer to stakeholder through giving of oneself in time and skill, a consistent financial contribution, and attendance at social events, classes, workshops and community gatherings, as appropriate to one's current life circumstances.
Third is entering into the vision of Embracing all, while awakening to the One. It is supporting the vision by recognizing the center as a learning place for individuals and the community.
The fourth is passing on the good that is received here at the Center for Spiritual Living to each other and to the larger community; both in daily life and in whatever community service one may choose to give. This is done by striving to live the principles of Science of Mind in all areas of our daily lives.
On Sunday, November 23, we will unveil our 2009 theme, re-affirm our membership in the Center for Spiritual Living, and declare our financial pledge for 2009. Following our service, we'll celebrate Thanksgiving and our bounty together. The Center will provide a turkey luncheon.
